Ferrari GTB 488 débuts at 2015 Geneva Motor Show

Ferrari 488 GTB is a 3902 cc V8 turbo. This might be the first turbo-charged Ferrari in more than two decades, if we are not mistaken but Ferrari has promised that all future engines will be turbocharged or hybridized so this is perhaps the just the first in a long goodbye to naturally aspirated power plants.

The new engine amazes with some 661 horses at 8,000 rpm and a torque of 760Nm at 3000 rpm. This compares very favourably against the Ferrari 458, which it replaces. That legend only manages 562 horses, with a torque of 540 Nm at 6,000 rpm.

Welcome to summer! The summer solstice, or Midsummer, is the apex of the masculine, solar energy. It is known as Litha, the Celtic Goddess of Abundance and is the solar festival that celebrates the longest day of the year. It is also the first day of Cancer, the sign most associated with home, family, and nurturing. It is a Midsummer tradition to clean the home, decorate it with flowers, burn sage and cedar for purification and light candles for meditation. Create a ritual to honor this new season; it can be as simple as lighting a candle or saying a prayer. Litha is the perfect time to cast spells and prepare charms for matters of the heart. Because Litha is associated with abundance it is also an excellent time to do a spell for prosperity or creativity. What is your vision for this summer season? The Sagittarius Full Moon –June 18, 2008

Known as the Mead Moon, Honey, Moon, and Strong Sun Moon

Gemini is the teacher; Sagittarius is the preacher. Gemini represents the literal mind and is concerned with information; Sagittarius rules the higher mind and seeks knowledge. This full moon asks us to look at our thinking and our beliefs and how they influence our reality. Are we walking our talk, living our truth? And if not, then whose truth are we living? Pluto slipped back in Sagittarius on June 13^th and will reenter Capricorn on November 26^th. Its final retrograde in Sagittarius over the next several months challenges us to examine where we are out of alignment and do the necessary work.

This is an intense full moon for many reasons. All-or-nothing Pluto conjuncts the fiery Sagittarius moon and opposite the Gemini sun. It is also opposite seductive Venus (exact on the 17^th). Venus is conjunct the sun and Ceres. Like the myth of Persephone and Pluto, a journey to the underworld may be in order. Relationships will be tested and our underlying values, motives, and beliefs are called into question. A crisis can lead to a breakthrough provided we are willing to put the hard truth on the table and look at those parts of ourselves that our wounded. The Sagittarius moon is on the

“Expect the unexpected” Uranus makes a square to the full moon. On June 26^th it turns retrograde so it is extremely strong. Where it falls in your chart is where you need to clean your glasses and take a good look at your reality. What are you not seeing? What are you afraid to say? Mercury turns direct on the 19^th, the day after the full moon. Pluto makes an exact opposition to the sun on the 20^th. There may be no way to avoid a confrontation. This may feel like a pressured time but it is also a precious opportunity to make a major change. Are you one of those people who are always asking (like a cranky kid on a road trip) “Are we there yet, is it over?” Instead of dreading Mercury retrograde, enter the world or Hermes and experience his unique charms and gifts.

During Mercury Retrograde ordinary time is suspended and we are thrust into a mysterious, dream-like realm. In this shadowy twilight world projects and plans seem to fall apart, trips are delayed, and both mechanical and human glitches increase. It’s easy to become frustrated as we try to “make” things to work. But doing so we miss a delicious opportunity to step out of Saturn time and sink into that fluid in-between place where enchantment rules.

Mercury is in its own sign of Gemini so there’s more possibility of mistakes but also more opportunity for magic! Of course, back up your computer, take care of the details, and don’t make major purchases (especially Mercury ruled items like computers or cars); just don’t become rigid about appointments and plans.

Be like Hermes, grow some wings and travel between the worlds, open up to chance encounters and lucky breaks. Hermes/Mercury rules synchronicity (events that “appear” accidental but later prove to have great significance). Doors open, secret worlds unlock, omens and symbols surface guiding us to encounters at crossroads, meetings with remarkable strangers, and places that have special meaning. An old classmate from high school gets in touch; a magazine found on the bus contains an article that is life changing; an unexpected stop at a yard sale leads to a valuable treasure. By the 19^th when Mercury pulls out of retrograde you may be sorry to see him fly away. But perhaps by then Mercury/Hermes will be your friend and continue to share his divine alchemy with you.

May 26th Mercury goes retrograde:

It is not great for launching new projects or making big purchases (especially Mercury ruled computers, cars, and cell phones) but it’s ideal for going back and rewriting, rethinking, and redoing. Mercury is in its own sign (Gemini) so this retrograde is especially strong. Pay attention to details, don’t take shortcuts, and back up your computer! Be careful what you say or don’t say; Mercury and Gemini rule language and information. They also rule ground travel so drive carefully! On the other hand, Mercury retro can bring unexpected gifts. Remember, in mythology Mercury was a magician and trickster. You miss your flight and you have a conversation with a stranger that opens up a whole new world. Or you find a magazine in Starbucks that has a life changing article. You can find treasures at thrift stores and tag sales (used things are very retro). Or an old project gets a second look. It can be an interesting and colorful period as long as you are flexible and “go with the flow” – an excellent thing to do at any time.
