U.S. fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg has been selected by Time magazine as one of 2015’s 100 Most Influential People.
The annual Time magazine listing, first published in 1999 and organized by the publication’s editors, honors individuals who have changed the world, in good ways and bad. By being recognized by Time magazine, an issue now rooted in American culture, readers unfamiliar with Ms. von Furstenberg’s work may be more interested in interacting with her brand.

The DVF brand shared that its founder was awarded as one of Time’s Top 100 influencers on social media. Brands often use social media for announcements and enables its followers to share in the happy news.
In a blog post on the DVF Web site, the brand shared that Ms. von Furstenberg was selected among the “Icon” section of Time’s list. Ms. von Furstenberg is being honored for her career in fashion as well as her philanthropic involvement with a number of charities.
Ms. von Furstenberg’s fellow influencers include Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, chef Ina Garten, Pope Francis and Pakistani activist Malala Yousafazai, among others.
