The Hampton Classic Horse Show is one of the largest and most prestigious hunter/jumper horse shows in the United States. With over 1600 horses competing each year for hundreds of thousands of dollars in prize money, the Hampton Classic is also a magnet for celebrities and one of the most talked-about social events of the summer in the glamorous Hamptons.More than 3000 enthusiastic guests sit in three of the country's largest VIP patrons' tents and about 50,000 other spectators gather each year to watch the week-long spectacle at the end of the summer. Competitions include the FTI Grand Prix and FEI World Cup (TM) Qualifier. There are also activities for the kids, so visitors can bring the whole family.
Local equestrians, up-and-coming riders as well as world-class competitors and Olympic veterans compete in the Hampton Classic each year. Above is a photo of Hillary Dobbs riding Marengo, winner of the Nicolock Time Challenge at the 2009 Hampton Classic Horse Show.
