The Ferrari 340 Competizione is one super cool concept car, in the flashiest of red, no less, that's guaranteed to turn heads on the highway - if it ever gets green-lighted for production, that is.
The one-off Ferrari F-340 Competizione, coach-builder Gullwing America's latest project, was conceived as an homage to the legendary 1952 Ferrari 340 Mexico Berlineta. Just three of those 1952 racers were made, and were designed specifically to battle the grueling Carrera Panamericana.
Fastforward to 2011: based on a 456 Ferrari platform and rebodied in handformed aluminium, the bodywork and muscular styling of the 2011 version makes for an aggressive, jaw-dropping statement.

The interior riffs off the 1952 racer: the chrome-plated roll cage, for instance, references the 340 Mexico Berlinetta’s racing pedigree, and the seats are sporty cut-down bucket units. The exposed carbon fiber weave on the seat backs, however, provides a pleasing jolt of high tech, setting the car firmly in the twenty-first century. Other modern updates are the diffuser, rear spoiler, side vents and front splitters.
For the record, juice is provided by the 456 GT’s front-mounted longitudinal 5.4 litre V12, tuned to produce 470 horsepower. The Ferrari F-340 Competizione is, unfortunately, not slated for serial production just yet - indeed, only one specimen has been built thus far - but we're pretty sure more than a few car collectors would want one of these in their garages.

It looks like classic and modern Ferrari together in one. I'd say they should give it a go.
