Built by Turkish yard Aegean Yachts in 2009, Montigne is a spacious and gracious yacht built to the specifications of an experienced Southeast Asian yacht owner. In essence, she’s an elegant sailing yacht with twin 760 hp engines on standby, just in case the winds don’t cooperate.

Unusually for a sailboat, guests will absolutely not want for space in either their accommodations or indeed in the common areas. The main room, for example, is massive and able to host a sit-down dinner for 12 without any bumping of elbows. At the same time, it is well worth noting that the main room is not even dominated by the dining area. There’s also a grand piano, a card table (with antique-style chairs) and a massive L-shaped sofa around a glass-topped coffee table.

As for living spaces, the owner’s cabin is so big that the king-sized bed within would look a little lonely if not for the two sofas and 42-inch television, which can be used when one tires of the 65-inch plasma screen in the main room.

Down below, on the lower deck, the owner’s cabin is matched in size by the VIP state room. This deck is taken up by accommodations. In total, there are six ensuite state rooms, with four doubles and two double/twin cabins.

Outside, the main deck features a huge circular dining table with a lazy Susan, which is the perfect place to enjoy the chef’s Chinese banquets. The entire aft end is the ultimate cushioned lounging pad to snooze or watch TV outdoors in the shade. This area can be transformed into an enclosed space when the elements are being difficult using drop down screens, while a clever system of misting sprays and chilled air cooler fans ensures it is never too hot. On top of a state of the art audio-visual system throughout, Montigne offers as well as an extensive watersports toys list.

The Montigne is available now for charters from Simpson Marine but the owner has also put her up for sale. The asking price is EU$16,500,000. Contact James Rayner at Simpson Marine for more information. Our full review of this yacht is here.
