Below are just some of the many emails I received regarding the skin care segment on ABC, November 11, 2006. I am sorry that time got away and I was not able to give as much detail as I hoped. Unfortunately it was beyond my control. The regular anchor on Eye Witness News is out on maternity leave and they had what clearly a rookie was filling in. I apologize for her, as many of you felt she was making fun of you for being luxury consumers. I cannot speak for ABC but I am sure a major network would have to be embarrassed by their anchors behavior by insulting their viewers. I agree with you that she clearly does not understand the luxury market and when dealing from ignorance it is always better to keep silent. But as I have always expressed in my communications, Luxury is not in objects that we amass, but by the heightened quality of life that we lead. "Never lower yourself to their level, make them rise to yours”. I appreciate all of your concern and support for me. But I feel, It is important to act with dignity and grace in these situations.
“What a bitch! What the hell is her problem? You look great though and in your element.BTW, if I had a dollar for all the Skin Caviar I have bought for my exes, I would be a millionaire by now!”
“The best advertisement for using luxury products was to turn off the sound. It was very clear which one uses Oil of Olay.”
“I am a big fan of your’s and I thought the topic of the hottest luxury skin care products a very interesting topic when I read about it on your blog. I went to ABC to see the segment. The reporter was so rude and prevented you from conveying any real information. I will not be going back to ABC news and I suggest that you don’t either.”
“I thought your skin care section turned out to be a manors segment. You remained a lady even being attacked live on air. I am a luxury consumer and agree with you that quality of life is what it is all about. I was offended to be called one of “those kinds” of people that would purchase luxury skin creams. She made fun of all her viewers.”
